Description
Plants used to produce Big Red Robe are often allowed to grow into trees, and the leaves are amongst the largest leaf plucked for tea of any style. Big Red Robe is the ideal introduction to the more heavily roasted, strip-style oolongs from the Wu Yi Rock mountains. Oxidized to about 80%, its dry leaf is reminiscent of a black tea, but the leaves are much larger. This organically produced, high grade Big Red Robe has been skillfully hand made from tender leaves which have been curled and baked over charcoal to give a smooth and long lasting earthy creamy flavour with a long sweet aftertaste.
While this tea can of course be prepared “western style” we encourage you to experiment with preparing the tea “gong fu cha” style, simply vary the quantity of tea leaves and the length of the steep time to find the flavour profile you like most.
