Description
The old, wild growing tea plants that provide the buds used to make this exceptional Vietnam Fairy White Tea are so well hidden high up in the mountains, that the local “Zdao” villagers say that only the fairies can guide them to them. With only a short period in the springtime when it is possible to harvest this tea and only a few people who know how to find the trees, this is a real rare and hidden gift from nature.
It is hard for us to imagine the scenery, climate and environment in which these “wild” tea trees and bushes grow. In a place where it seems time has stood still, local Zdao villagers collect the young and tender buds which are then transported to a small family business in a nearby village to be dried in the sun. Because these tea trees have grown wild and organically, each bush/tree is unique and it is not possible to say name the cultivar.
Vietnam Fairy White Tea is made up purely of young buds and with minimal processing. It is a delicate tea with has a bright, pale yellow infusion and is sweet and refreshing with hints of peach and passion fruit. Try this tea as alternative to the Chinese Silver Needle, we think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at the complexity of flavour.
