100 Years of Royal Albert 1970 Poppy Mug
The 1970s was an interesting time in Britain. We joined the EU, the Sex Pistols introduced a whole new genre of music and sadly, people stopped drinking loose leaf tea and adopted the teabag. We like to think that tea connoisseurs resisted the teabag trend and continued to drink their loose leaf tea made in a teapot and drunk from beautiful fine bone china such as this mug, decorated with bright coral orange and yellow floral poppies. This is a design straight from Royal Albert’s archives: it is evocative of the Age of Aquarius and the free spirits of the rebellious 1970s.
