Grown at an altitude of 1500m in China’s mountainous Yunnan province, this black tea has striking long golden leaves with a matt black underside. The amber liquor has a satisfying sweet, floral and malty aroma and the taste is very smooth, with no hint of astringency or bitterness. With wonderful malty, caramel, sweet and cocoa notes and a long-lasting aftertaste, this tea is a real treat for all the senses.
China Yunnan Golden Dragon
This smooth, rich, mouth-filling tea from Yunnan in China is sometimes also known as Yunnan Gold, Tippy Yunnan, or in Chinese, Dian Hong Tea. “Dian” is the old name for the region Yunnan and refers to the people that ruled there until the 2nd Century. “Hong” is the Chinese word for red, and Hong Cha, or “red tea”, is what black tea is known as in China!
This excellent quality China Yunnan Golden Dragon is made from solely from elegant, long, downy buds. The brewed tea has a typical Chinese black tea flavour: smooth and rich, with sweet notes of caramel, chocolate and dark honey.
