Description
This tea is another Morimoto triumph! Not just any shaded-tea, this organic “Kabusecha” is made exclusively of tender young leaves from mild and sweet Oku Midori plants. Oku Midori is a cross between between the popular cultivar “Yabukita” and another cultivar from the tea growing area Shizuoka. The cultivar Oku Midori is known for its umami, sweet, refreshing liquor and fruity, herbaceous notes.
Light but at the same time very complex, this sweet and slightly fruity shaded asamushi (lightly steamed) Kabusecha has the perfect balance of sweet and bitter. It might look strange but after drinking this tea we find ourselves swishing our tongues around our mouths to get the last traces of umami. Simply delicious!
