Just as important as the appearance of your matcha bowl (Chawan) is how the bowl feels in your hands. In our shop in Stuttgart we encourage customers to hold the bowls they are considering in both hands and make their decision based on what feels best. As you can’t do that in our Onlineshop we would point out that this bowl has more slanted sides than most matcha bowls, which are typically straight sided.
The bowl of this smooth and elegant cream coloured matcha bowl from Mino swells up elegantly from the base to form the perfect shape to cup in your hands. Round, smooth and soothing to hold, the slightly rippled effect of the glaze feels cooling to the hands, while the fine, darker stripes under the pale glaze add depth for the eye. The quality of this matcha bowl is confirmed by the base, which is very cleanly and accurately formed, as would be expected in a far more expensive piece.
