Great for when you need a Fukamushi Sencha fix but only have time for a couple of infusions, this good value Sencha from the prize-winning company Otsuka is made during the final days of the first flush period. Although exposed to more sunlight than the leaves used for Shincha and the other Otsuka Senchas from the first flush period, this tea is still packed full of flavour, with a long, sweet, aftertaste.
The Fukamushi process (steaming for a longer time at a higher temperature) breaks down the cells in the leaves and allows all the aroma and flavour in the tea to come out. Also, the leaves become finer and dissolve to some extent in the cup. Thereby you will consume more tea (antioxidants and nutrients) per cup of tea.
