Uplifting and refreshing, this “mid-range” Sencha from the Otsuka family has a wonderful aroma when you first open the packet and an aftertaste that is nutty, fruity, and floral. Vivid green in the cup, this Sencha has less grassy notes than the Otsuka Tokujou Sencha but it does have a hint of seaweed in its flavour profile.
Shizuoka is the region where over half of all Japanese tea is grown. When you consider that Japan only exports 1-2% of the tea produced there, and that the Otsuka teas we have in our selection repeatedly win prizes for their quality and taste, we are very lucky to have them in our range. Otsuka Sencha Kura is a premium first harvest green tea, with a fruity aroma and delicate sweetness. It is a smooth, refreshing example of a high quality deep steamed (Fukamushi style) tea that is true to the Japanese tea culture.
Equally delicious as a warm tea or cold brew, Otsuka Kura Sencha is one of a collection of Otsuka’s Fukamushi teas – a style of tea that said to be ideal for delicate stomachs.
