I love giving gifts, not because it’s expected on any particular occasion, but because even the smallest gift, such as a carefully selected tea, can make a huge difference to someone’s day. This is especially true when the gifts are unexpected and appropriate.
Why tea is a great gift
- Offering someone a cup of tea is a caring gesture, and giving someone tea is a physical gesture that symbolises the caring message.
- In many cultures, giving tea is seen as a gift of good health or long life.
- Tea allows you to be creative, you can choose a type of tea that suits the taste or needs of the person you are giving it to.
- Tea is affordable. With the option to buy as little as 10g of any tea, there is a tea to suit every budget.
- Adding a tea caddy or accessory turns a consumable gift into a lasting memory.
- Drinking tea has a number of health benefits, including boosting the immune system, fighting inflammation, lowering cholesterol and protecting against heart disease.
Gift advisory and shipping service
Whether the recipient of your gift lives in Germany or elsewhere in Europe, we can help you choose and deliver the perfect gift. Replicating the personal service we are known for in our shop in Stuttgart, we will advise you on gift options and choices to suit the occasion and your budget over the phone or via email correspondence. Once we have agreed the contents of your gift, we will wrap it and send it with your personal message directly to the recipient.
Tips for customers based in the UK
Sending gifts from the UK to countries within Europe has become more complicated since Brexit. Anyone sending gifts or goods to countries outside the UK will need to complete a customs declaration form, which the recipient will see, stating the value of the gift. There are also restrictions on the type of gifts you can send, and gifts worth more than €45 will be subject to import duty, which the recipient would have to pay.
If you do decide to ship directly from the UK, the German customs authorities provide detailed advice on restrictions, duties and taxes, and procedures on their website.
Why we want to help
Sending a carefully chosen gift to mark an occasion, to cheer someone up, to make amends or simply to let someone know we are there for them shows empathy, that we have paid attention to what is going on in their lives and that we care. This is something that is all too easy to neglect in today’s busy world and, sadly, since Brexit, it has become more difficult for kind-hearted UK residents with family, friends or colleagues in Europe to do spontaneously.
Rather than sacrifice the art of gift-giving on the altar of Brexit, we’ve come up with a few solutions to help you avoid the hassle of shipping from the UK while still keeping the love flowing:
1. Packing your online order as a gift with your personal message
If you don’t need any advice or help with the content of your gift, simply place your order online, enter the recipient’s address as the delivery address and use the comments box at checkout to tell us what message you would like us to include with the gift. You will then receive an order confirmation and invoice by email. The recipient would simply receive the gift.
2. Advising you before sending your gift directly to the recipient
We are based in Stuttgart, Germany. And we speak English. More importantly, we love making people happy. Advising you over the phone or via email, helping you choose your gift and send it for you to the lucky recipient would make you happy, make the recipient happy, and make us happy. What more could we want than to make gift giving a win-win-win situation for everyone! Find out more or contact us to arrange a consultation here.
3. Digital gift cards
Quick and easy, and especially useful when time is of the essence, or if you prefer to let the lucky recipient choose the gift themselves, our digital gift cards offer an instant, online solution.
Corporate gifting
There are countless studies showing the value of giving customers, employees and business partners a gift as a token of appreciation – perhaps to mark a special occasion, or perhaps just to show that their loyalty is appreciated.
In my opinion giving a B2B gift should be able to bring as much joy as a personal gift and I’m not convinced that branded keyrings, letter openers, pens etc. do the job.
For companies who want to give their customers something unique, we offer personalised tea gifts. These gifts can either be a single tea with your message on the label or include tea as part of a larger hamper style gift, including honey, shortbread and other goodies chosen to suit your message and budget.
