Description
Kirishima Aki Bancha is a gentle green tea from the lush volcanic highlands of Kirishima where the air is clean and the volcanic soil if full of flavourful minerals. Harvested in autumn (“aki” means autumn in Japanese), unlike spring teas that focus on the freshness of young power-packed leaves, Aki Bancha reflects the richness of mature leaves gathered later in the season, resulting in a tea that is smooth, grounded, and naturally low in caffeine.
A good alternative to Kukicha, Kirishima Aki Bancha is a mild and smooth tea, with subtle nutty and slightly woody notes, soft vegetal undertones and very low bitterness. It is a simple “everyday” tea that invites you to enjoy it at a time when you don’t have the time to do multiple fancy and just slow down.
